Free Ticket To Anywhere

After browsing around for blog post ideas, as I am fairly limited when my brain is half asleep, this is what I found that inspired me. A list of 105 blogging prompts to help those who just can't come up with anything they think their readers will enjoy. I shall post a link to the original article afterwards.

One of the topics is as follows: If someone gave you a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you go? .. and I would very much like to answer this question.

Despite the fact that most people would choose somewhere exotic for a nice relaxing holiday, I would not. In fact, if ever I was away from my husband to be, I'd take that ticket and make my way to him on the next available flight. It would not take me very long to decide that would be my choice, and as we are not together at present, that is my choice right now. With a free plane ticket to absolutely anywhere in the world, the only place I genuinely want to be is with him. For, at the moment, our being apart is taking its toll after three or four years, so it's about time that changed. As with most things in life however, money is complex and trying to save up enough of it for an actual flight is just as complex. However, until I have enough in the bank to pay for a flight out to him, this will continue to be my only goal and aim, if anyone were willing enough to help me out prior of course. It would be greatly appreciated, but asking such a thing is by no means right.

How about you, dear readers. Where would you trot off to with a free plane ticket?

One Is Bound To Land Somewhere

"When one jumps over the edge, one is bound to land somewhere."

Another blog post inspired by 105 Blog Prompts and hopefully this in depth description of my thoughts on the above quote ties in with yours.

To begin, it is an incredibly inspiring sentence, given it is only a few words in length and yet is able to outline such a strong platform, it makes those of us who have our doubts about accomplishing certain things, feel as though we are capable and have the power to achieve our goals. This is how I feel about it at least, but I would like to know how my readers feel about it. Whilst it inspires some, it may not inspire others, and there is always a reason why.

Does it inspire you? How does it make you feel? What do you think you could strive for after reading such a quote as this?

Favourite Literary Character

My favourite literary character? It is impossible to choose just one out of so many brilliant creations. Each character I adore has their very own ways, styles and whatnot. It would be daft to pick just one of them to stand above the others, and because of this I have decided on three. One for each period of time more or less, though I could be completely wrong.
Heathcliff
I do not think a list of my favourite literary characters would ever feel complete if it did not include Heathcliff. There is so much to like about this particular character that it's difficult to point out everything, but I shall narrow it down. His ongoing and evergrowing love for Catherine is just one point. The way in which he strives all of the time to win her heart back once he loses it to another man whom she only thinks she has fallen for. It was nothing but a poor fancy, according to Heathcliff. He is a character that most will show hatred toward eventually, about midway through the book, but soon realise he is a very loving, caring and misunderstood human being who deserves the love he longs for.
Lestat
As with my thoughts on the above character, no list would be complete without the great Lestat. He is just a vampire you can't help but love, no matter his evil ways. It just so happens that he was not always the vicious fiend he is portrayed to be throughout further books. If one would read the beginning of it all, from the first moment it happened, they could understand him a little more. After reading The Vampire Lestat, before following his journey in other books, you are shown the kind of man he once was and how loving and caring he was still, even after he had been born into a new life through no choice of his own. Lestat, is also misunderstood.
Sirius
People should know who this character is without having to read his surname, but if you still haven't a clue, think Hogwarts. That clue alone should help determine who this man is. With this character, it is a love for his mischievous ways, as much as it is a love for his adoration and commitment toward his godson. After his release since being blamed for a crime he did not commit, he develops a bond with the boy who lost his parents many years ago, and is now the only family he has left. Sirius is there as much as he can be for him, but fate turns the tables on them both, with Sirius losing his life and his godson, and his godson losing the only family he has left.
I want to know who your favourite literary characters are. If they have been in movies, that is acceptable, so long as they were in books prior to their success elsewhere. So, do you have one favourite, or many, and who are they?

Favourite Movie Villains

Because the Headless Horseman is not actually included on this list, I have given him special mention in the form of a picture instead. This list is scattered; not in any kind of order and possibly lacking a few more of my favourites, but these are the basics and all I can think of at present.
The Joker
Ledger's version of this villain of course. Whilst I am a huge Nicholson fan, I did not feel that his performance as the joker was as good as it could have been. Heath gave the character a whole new meaning and it surprised me. I would never have believed he could have pulled it off as well as he did, but he didn't half manage.
Voldemort
I think a good telling off would be given to anyone who did not mention Lord Voldemort, no matter who else is on their list. Voldemort was optional for mine however because he is not really as good as he could be. Perhaps that is the fault of the Potter world director, as his character in Rowling's books is up to par. I was shocked to find out his character in the movies did not live up to his character in the books, but I will never blame Ralph Fiennes.
Annie Wilkes
This is a character that should always get top marks for being uniquely disturbed in more ways than one. She kidnaps her favourite novelist and is sure to break his ankles to prevent him escaping her clutches, whilst she forces him to write a new chapter to his book just for her. In the movie, she snaps whenever he writes something that she does not approve of and goes absolutely mental. It is unique; and whilst the kidnapping idea is not, her inner demons give her a strong enough likability.
Patrick Bateman
Bateman is a classic because he is so messed up you would not believe it. It seems as though, throughout the entire movie, he has no real reason whatsoever to commit such horrific murders, but the enjoyment he receives from actually allowing his moods to take control are hilarious. Whilst it should not be a comedy in any way, shape or form given its content, it's almost impossible not to giggle at how intense those moments are. He simply boils up a load of anger through the smallest of things, and kills people if they displease him in any way.
Stansfield
One of my favourite bad guys, and not just because Gary Oldman portrays him. No, this corrupt cop is so hyped on drugs that he doesn't know the difference between right or wrong anymore. His sanity left him a long time ago and his only muse is Beethoven. He likes to describe Beethoven's music as the kind of thing that warms him up before he barges in on people who owe him a ton of money, but refuse to own up to it. A personal favourite quote of mine; 'I haven't got time for this Mickey Mouse bullshit!', is one that defines his character perfectly.
Pennywise
A great deal of people would probably include this clown, because they are afraid of clowns in general, though this one in particular is severely messed up. He has razor sharp teeth and an upward pointing do of bright red hair. At first, he seems almost friendly, but for those who have a keen eye and ear, he is far from it. The game is given away all too soon when he pulls a young boy down a gutter and eats him alive. Me however, I am not scared of clowns, so this one doesn't actually frighten me much. The only thing that frightens me about this clown is Tim Curry; now he IS scary.
Nurse Ratched
There is nothing at all to like about this damn woman. She is irritating from the first time we are introduced to her. The way in which she treats her patients is ridiculous; she cares nothing for them and is non the wiser when one of them shows clear signs of depression. Because of her lack of understanding and inability to notice these signs, said patient kills himself and she then considers it a problem she could not have prevented. She certainly could have prevented it by not encouraging the poor patient to feel guilty over sleeping with someone. Having quite a bond with his mother and being threatened by this nurse did not end well for him.
Predator
I adore this character, very much so. I chose predator over alien and would everytime because alien does not have all that much to offer really. Unless of course, I were to base my decision off a deleted scene I found for one of the alien movies a few years ago, then I might pick alien instead. It was a very creepy clip in which an alien was kneeling down watching a member of crew fixing up her hair. What bothered me most about that clip was the way in which the alien approached her; crawling forward whilst his hands were on the floor beneath him and his feet outstretched in front of him. It was the image of that alone I believe. But, in all seriousness, predator gets my vote.
Bane
Another character from Batman because this one deserves it too. I was reluctant to go and see the new batman movie, but was persuaded by how good a trailer it had. It's more likely that I'll go see a movie if a trailer shines. I'll seldom bother otherwise. Bane has been chosen because his villain is of a different kind; he is not your usual villain at all. Though, he is not exactly the real villain (the mastermind behind the destruction of Gotham), which is what makes it more exciting.
V
Most will know who V is, and if you don't, shame on you. He is last on this list so your focus will be on him for a moment longer. I wanted him here for attention because I do not consider him a villain by any means, but in the world of entertainment, he is just that. The reason why I do not consider him a villain is because everything that he did and everything that he stood for, I agreed with. Had he been an actual member of society, I would have stood alongside him and followed his dreams because he was right in absolutely everything he ever said or did.

In The Moonlight Cast

I do have a cover for this novella, but the characters are important for this post. This is what I imagine them both to look like, and this is what I would have to keep in mind when choosing an actor and actress to portray them to a standard I think they could manage.

After stumbling across a post asking readers who they would like as the final cast if their book was ever turned into a movie, it got me thinking. Of course, my favourite actress to date is Liv Tyler and it has been her for a while, so there was no doubt at all about her portraying my character Catherine Hunt. Then I thought long and hard about who would pull off the character of Sebastian Wood quite well, and my mind landed on Christian Bale.

I took into account everything about my characters first and foremost, and believe I have chosen correctly. It would be nice to see my book turned into a movie, and with that being said, I'd better get a move on and start writing it.

Have you ever thought about who might play the characters in your stories?

Writing Wishes

Alright, so the question is as follows: A genie grants you three writing related wishes, what are they and why?
Endless Ideas
Of course, I can not think of a single writer who would not wish for this. It would save them a whole load of trouble spending countless hours of not writing; instead trying desperately to come up with something interesting enough to write about. It is inevitable that a writer should choose this as their first wish. At least, it would be my first wish that was writing related.
Thesaurus Hunting
I am not sure what other writers do about this one, but I am aware that I'm not the only one out there who have a gander inside a thesaurus every now and then in the hopes of finding a better word. After spending the last week or two reading Stephen Kings: On Writing however, I have come to understand that trying to find a word that sounds better is a very bad idea. Still, sometimes it is necessary, especially if you have used the word quite a bit already throughout your writing.
Block Banishment
This probably ties in with Endless Ideas, but there is more than one problem when it comes to writers block and that includes getting halfway through a story and not knowing how to keep going. This, to me, is different in its own way and should be something we can avoid. I would wish to have this problem completely banished. No matter how involved I get in any story I am writing, somewhere down the line, the idea fairy will fly off and leave me wondering how I'm doing to continue.

Alright, now that I have listed my three wishes, it's your turn. Which three things would you wish for that would be vital to sustain your love of writing?

Writers Who Inspire Me

Because I could not decide on one of the following writers to set as an image for this post; I chose an idea bulb.

Alright, so this is a little difficult for most, but I have known who my favourite writers are for quite some time now and it has not changed. I have read more books since I decided, but still, my views remain the same.

First up is Anne Rice, for a very good reason. The Vampire Chronicles are to-die-for books and anyone who is a fan of immortals should read them. Anne is a one of a kind writer who has her own methods and style, making her incredibly unique and even more fascinating. Her vampire novels inspired me a long time ago to get back into writing, after I found The Vampire Lestat hidden at the back of my cupboard among all my other books.

Stephen King is next, but by no means least. He and Anne are the only writers who inspire me enough to create my own worlds. Though, King has a passion for vulgar stories, whereas Anne writes about such things in a more charming kind of way. I like both styles to be fair and King is capable of making his readers squirm in their seats. What I like most about King however is his book titled On Writer and I encourage anyone who wishes to develop their writing skills further to go out and buy this book. In no way am I trying to profit from this because I'm not even directing you to anything; I just believe he tells it as it is and leaves nothing to the imagination. He is fairly brutal in his explanations and that makes it all the more interesting to read.

Who are your favourite writers and why?

Authors Cove

To visit my business blog and make your purchases, please see the link to the left!

I am a writer of many different styles, though my work consists mostly of short stories, poetry, reviews and articles. During your stay in my cove, you will come across a selection of each topic that has been mentioned and will be explored throughout this brief introduction. I hope that you will enjoy your stay here, and find the time to leave comments or send in emails if you wish.

Short Stories
My short stories are either based upon romantic ideas that I have swimming around my mind, or simply fan fiction based upon certain celebrities that I'm intrigued by at the time. This is an endless cycle of birthing ideas, so there's never a blank page at the end of each day. On this site, you will come across a selective list of short stories that have been rated by readers, and there will also be an option to purchase the stories listed if you are interested.
Poetry
Rather than post my poetry straight onto this site, I will be linking readers to my page on Writers Network. That way, you may browse through each and every poem I have written, as well as the poetry of other writers if you wish to. My poems, as with my short stories, are more or less based around romance and celebrity tributes. The poetry that has already been published on that site will not be sold to readers, but if you wish to request a poem you may.
Reviews
I tend to write a lot of reviews, typically based off movies or music and sometimes the odd product here and there if I am really intrigued by it. I'll post samples of my review writing techniques in a seperate page on this site so you may have a gander and hopefully find what you are looking for. I try hard to give in depth descriptions and detail in regard to movies I have watched or music I have listened to and found to be incredibly powerful.
Articles
These are my favourite pieces of writing, along with short stories. I spend hours each day just coming up with new ideas alone so that I may produce quality content for my main blog. If you would like to view my writing skills via that site instead, I will find somewhere to post a link to my other corners of the web. Article samples will be displayed on this site with brief summaries and there will be an option to request an article or article batch if you would like to.

Hire A Writer

If you are looking for a writer to write articles, reviews, poetry or short stories, I can guarantee successful outcomes through each of the specialities listed.
My writing is very broad; I do not limit myself to one particular topic and always write about anything and everything that catches my interests. Mostly, I venture into articles about Movies, Music, Life, Love and Writing. Each post on my blog is SEO designed and created to provide the best of the best possible results. Going on my daily views, reaching a height of up to 600, I can write great content for you if and when you need it.
However, if you're looking into a more creative side in your hiring process, you would be happy to know that in my free time, I write poetry and short stories. It is a daily thing for me, as I spend at least a few hours at a time creating my own worlds and words for the entertainment of others.
Samples of my reviews and articles can be found on this blog, all you have to do is take a look around. But, if you want to have a look at my stories and poetry, visit the links below.

The Hobbit

If you are a die hard fan of the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, this new production being added to Peter Jacksons collection will be an absolute delight to you. Though it has not yet been released, it is yet another part to the Lord Of The Rings storyline and should been considered as wonderful as the last three. You can watch its trailer here: Hobbit Trailer or you can browse trailer ratings on Rotten Tomatoes instead. Either way, you will not be disappointed by this new addition to the great trilogy behind it.

Summary

Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever; Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum's "precious" ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities.

The Real Axl Rose

When people hear the name Axl Rose they immediately result in calling him horrid names because of everything they hear and/or read. The media enjoy twisting everything they get their hands on to make unfortunate people look like complete lunatics.

Axl may have the odd outburst here and there but who doesn't? Are we actually going to gun him down with harsh words just because his actions are always on camera thanks to the media who just love following celebrities around to get juicy gossip and catch things they should not?

Mr.Rose has been seen in a bad light over the years because as the media claim repeatedly; he has severe anger issues. It annoys me to hell and back that people are still so vulnerable toward what the media tells them and they seem to believe anything whether it's true or not.

In my eyes, mainly because I'm not blinded by the hatred that goes hand in hand with money craving, in control of entertainment news, arrogant reporters and journalists, Axl is a good man. I've always had the same opinion regarding him, no matter what I read or hear. We don't know the full story behind any of the claims so we can't point the finger automatically as most do. Leave Axl alone.. he's done nothing wrong.. and he's better than all of these attention seeking media whores put together.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even though my latest post was also about this man I feel I could have elaborated a lot more as many people still feel the media are correct in portraying him as a horrible, arrogant and selfish person. If it isn't clear I disagree on all accounts that suggest this is so, I'm going to make it clear now.

If you enjoy reading and listening to what the media produce then more fool you. There is a difference between having your own opinion and simply using other opinions to form your own. In no way can we tell exactly what anyone is like behind closed doors, but one thing we cannot do is judge those we know next to nothing about. That is all I ever see regarding Axl Rose and it's completely unfair on him. Would you like going about your life knowing there are thousands of people out there who have this undying hatred toward you simply because they picked up a newpaper and read a piece of fiction? No, I don't believe you would.

Luckily enough there are still die hard fans who will defend their favourite celebrities and rightly so. I can admit that I'm one of them as there's a quote that has been lingering for a while as it seems to convey what a fan really is. An attack on my idol is an attack on myself. To me and many others this statement rings true and I like to use it everywhere I can.

Some people would now like to believe that those who admire and adore certain celebrities that much must be completely mental and have no life. This is also untrue. When you find reasons to like another person it doesn't suggest that your entire life revolves around them, unless of course you would like it to as is the case with some relationships. Admiring a celebrity for what they do and who they are is more than acceptable as plenty of people out there act the same towards those who are not of fame and fortune. What difference does it make just because they are known all over the universe? It makes no difference at all.

I can't count the number of times I have gone over all of these factors but it does become highly frustrating. To know there are incredibly stubborn people out there who refuse to accept the way some people act toward celebrities is ridiculous. It's almost like a religion. They practically live by everything the media tells them and not once do they think to examine the claims in order to express their own thoughts and opinions on whatever junk they decide to publish. I have yet to meet anyone genuine who is in some way connected to the media, it seems they are all out for money and that's that.

Why Axl? one of the most disliked celebrities in the world thanks to all the crap that's printed about him. They also had a good laugh poking fun at Michael Jackson for many years of his life because he was different. In all honesty, what kind of thrills do they receive from doing all this to innocent people? The only answer I can come up with, again, is money. They print false stories about perfectly innocent people merely to pay the bills and off they go to the bank with a satisfied smile on their faces. But how long will that happiness last when you compare time and money? You have to understand that eventually, the guilt is going to build up until it is too much to bear, then what happens? You regret everything.

No one is ever truly rewarded for being a fool or an inconsiderate, dumb human being. Perhaps they get all they want right now, but years down the line it all goes to shit. I just wanted to give my thoughts on the matter, defending Axl Rose is something I enjoy doing as I have the grounds and information I need in order to be successful with it.

Rotten Tomatoes

If you are a movie lover and don't have the time or patience you usually would to look into official movie trailers or reviews; Rotten Tomatoes is your next best bet. With a limited amount of time, or if you simply want to know what others said about a particular movie you are about to watch or have already watched, give Rotten Tomatoes a visit and browse through their endless lists of movie trailers, reviews and ratings. It helps sometimes to read more than one review to get a fair idea of whether or not a certain movie is worth your time.

Also remember to check the rating height whilst you are looking through reviews. If the bar is above 50% and the icon is a tomato, it is worth watching. However, if the bar is under 50% and the icon is a green splodge, don't even waste your time with that movie. Unless of course you are daring our simply out for a laugh, feel free to give it a test run just to see how truly awful it is. Keep in mind that not everyone who reviews and rates the movies featured on that site know exactly what they are talking about. What may come across as a terrible movie to one person, could be blockbuster worthy to someone else. You won't know for sure until you have given it a watch, but if its trailer is bad and the majority of its ratings and reviews don't shout about it, it would be best to just give it a miss.

If you're someone who is knew to the online movie reviews and have not yet found your merry little way to this website, here: Rotten Tomatoes - and have a blast while you're there. You can also join to leave your own verdicts on movies you think are great, or those you think should never have been released.

Butterflies Are Free

This is a very charming and engaging movie to watch if you're a fan of stage play themes. Perhaps its director could have written a better script, but in all fairness, Goldie and Edward had fabulous chemistry and that makes it worthwhile. Both stars had fun loving roles as Jill and Don and through the course of the movie we learn how love is patient and understanding. Though at first our lead female is a little unsure of how deep a relationship she wants to get caught up in, her like for our lead male conquers all of her doubts.

If you are interested in watching young and talented actors in their earlier movies to get a grasp of how they shot to stardom, this is the perfect type of movie to watch. Not only are both young stars brilliant at what they do, but they are also quite a delight to look at. It's a mix of near enough every genre and doesn't allow you once to soak in the epic or uncertain scenes in which our characters fall into a pit of despair or everlasting love takes over their emotions. In memory of Edward Albert; our beloved Don Baker, go and watch this movie!

What Boosts Your Creativity?

As a writer, it can often be difficult to find the topic that is going to interest your readers, as much as it is going to interest you whilst writing about it. Many writers, no matter their area of expertise, will sometimes struggle to find inspiration and thus become highly frustrated and go days, weeks or even months at a time delaying what they in fact should have written, without problems. There are strangely quite a few people out there who don't believe in the term writers block and think it is just an excuse made by writers in order for them to postpone working and focus on other aspects of their lives instead. If you feel you are currently having trouble finding the right form of inspiration to get your creative juices flowing, browse through the list below, there's bound to be something that will be of use to you and your lost in a maze creativeness!

News Sites

This is one of the best ways to gain a whole load of traffic toward your blog or website, especially if you are a writer who focuses on Journalism. It is also a great start if you're looking for inspiration to begin writing your article, story, poem or other forms of the profession. There are thousands of news sites all over the web, all you have to do is browse the one's that fit into the category you're wanting to broadcast in your own words and you're off. Your best bets for regularly updated news headlines are Google News, Yahoo News, CNN News and ABC News.

Media

If you're someone who enjoys all forms of entertainment then this is definitely your first stop, you'll have more ideas than you can handle following this one through. Whether you enjoy watching a movie, a tv show or you find interest in listening to your favourite artist, you can surely find the right inspiration through one of those, if not all at the same time. The best place to visit would be Youtube if you want to try and find that soap, movie or track. There are many other options of which sites work for you when it comes to media related activities, but you can't fail with youtube.

Peers

If you have friends or people around you who also share an interest in or like for writing, why not ask to view some of their work to inspire your own. There could be endless possibilities and a fantastic outcome if your brain notices something it likes through anothers writing, that spark or lightbulb is merely moments away if you opt for this method. Give it a try, even if you don't know many people who share your interests, there are a whole load of websites you could join to find those people. If you are a poet I would recommend Writers Network, if you are more of a novelist I would recommend Story Write, or if you simply spend your time writing articles I'd recommend one or all of the following: HubPages, Helium, Triond, Squidoo and Article Income.

Take A Break

If you just feel drained and unable to write anything at all, even without inspiration, the only thing left for you to do is take a well deserved break, because let's be honest, you clearly need one. Nothing in relation to writing should disturb this break otherwise you'll never wish to proceed with your job or hobby ever again. Just find an activity you enjoy that will ease your mind of all stress and worry! You'll be back on the road to writing in no time.

The Truth About Online Income

If, like me, you are dedicating almost all of your free time online toward browsing for the most genuine and realistic ways in which you can start earning a decent income through what you know best, now is the time to stop. Weigh up all of your options and make a list of the things you know you might be able to succeed with and try each of them out as though you are trying out a new pair of shoes. If they fit, you are on your way toward earning online, if they don't, place them back on the shelf and keep on searching.

The truth is, you are bound to come across something you're good at sooner or later, even though most people would prefer their natural gifts and hard earned money to come along sooner, earning online is never going to give you that. I have been trying desperately to find something I'm certain will give me success, but as of yet I have been unable to find anything. One thing is absolutely clear however and following this rule is the only way you are guaranteed to get far, never give up. Understand that through all of your hard work and determination, you will eventually get something back for your efforts no matter how long it may take. Try not to dwell too much on how little you're receiving and think about the possible outcome.

Those of us who get frustrated with constant failing are those who are more likely to wind up quitting than those of us who are focused on gaining a potential income. The key to success in earning online is to be consistent and patient, then of course just keep working toward your goal. Eventually you are going to reach it and from that point on your stress will leave you alone, you then know what works and what doesn't work, the methods you find easiest and the methods you find most difficult. Experiment with all kinds of online tips and tricks until you find solace in something that makes you happy. Remember, never give up and never back down, especially if what you have found is difficult but you are achieving something because of it. Learning too is part of the road toward success, to know your strengths and your weaknesses is to know yourself and what you are and aren't capable of.

Walt Disney & Motherless Movies

Unbeknown to thousands of people who enjoy watching Disney movies, even if it is just with their children or to remember their own childhood days, near enough every one of them is motherless. If you read up on Walt Disney and come across a story about an accident that occured in his mothers home, you will understand the possible cause as to why he saw fit to make half his characters orphans. Now, not all of them were orphans of course, they had fathers as well, but losing a parent in general is overly devastating. Try to imagine if you will what your life would have been like, or what it would be like now if you had lost, or lose one of your parents after knowing only that they are supposed to be together. After being so used to having them both in one place and thinking that is how the world works.

When you are a child, this is your state of mind. You know no other way and so losing one parent, under all types of circumstances, is a huge shock and has a tremendous effect on the rest of your life. This is usually only if the child is old enough to understand, but young enough to feel threatened and lost because of it at the same time. Just thinking about this fact would make many shudder and hope that it never happens to them. It makes one wonder, the children who grew up watching Disney movies must have asked multiple questions in regard to half of their favourite characters not having a mother around for very long, or being born and not knowing their mother. Inside a childs mind there are many things to understand, but to do so would take a very long time as there are very diverse things spinning around their heads all at once. One thing is for certain though, if you knew not what you know now, would you allow your children to watch these movies knowing you would have to make up a story about why those animated children have a broken home? Or if you are older and wiser after watching those movies, what was your reaction to finding out such information?

There are more than enough reasons why some parents don't approve of Disney movies for younger children and rightly so. Half of them put forth the wrong messages depending on how a child interprets what is actually happening. If your child starts asking questions, you had better hurry and find the most appropriate answers.

One of the most inspirational and touching movies of all time with unforgettable quotes and characters. There is but one quote in particular that I would like to focus on for the completion of this post and that is as follows:

"They're not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts. Full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they're destined for great things, just like many of you, their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? - - Carpe - - hear it? - - Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary."

I'm sure everyone knows exactly what the meaning is behind such a phrase as Carpe Diem, but if you don't then pay attention. Carpe Diem is another way of saying Seize The Day and by right, everyone should have such passion through everything they come across in life. To have the power to stride through anything, both joys and obstacles by repeating this phrase either silently to yourself or out loud for the world around you to hear, is something that will take you far.

In this movie, this wonderful teacher had the miracle idea to use such words and phrases to urge his classroom of uninterested teenage boys toward achieving their dreams. The goal was that if you have a dream then you go for it, no matter what. Never allow anyone to tell you that you cannot reach it and never let anyone stand in your way of what makes you, you.

After watching this movie multiple times and being inspired repeatedly by these words alone, it makes you feel worth something. It makes you feel as though your passion in life, what you know you're good at and what you hope to be even better at, is worth your time and energy. Although the terrible fate of one character throughout the movie can knock all those previous thoughts of running ahead for what you believe in, it's importance and truth cannot be denied and will forever remain one of the most inspirational lines in movie history.

If you have not seen Dead Poets Society, I suggest you consider purchasing it's magnificence, or at least rent a copy or find it somewhere online. It does not matter where or how you watch it, it's something you cannot miss and in your lifetime, it has to be watched. I would recommend watching it's trailer first of all to get a feel of what you're preparing yourself for. Although the movie is incredibly inspirational and filled with guidance for those of us who don't wish or try hard enough to make our lives happy ones, it's also tragic and unforgiving.

Dream ~ Inspirational

There are thousands of inspirational quotes out there, many we like and many we dislike. Not all quotes are as inspirational as one might wish to believe, yet there are plenty in which we can depend on through the everchanging journey of our lives. Everyone has a few favourite quotes they like to refer to in times of struggle and need, when the world is getting you down and you need a pick-me-up, there is always something around the corner waiting to inspire you. If you take this Disney quote as an example, what do you think he means? If you are already someone who has a positive outlook on life, you will understand that anything is possible, if you try. However, if you are someone who holds negative views on everything involved in life, you will not assume you could succeed even if you do try. Perhaps this is true, perhaps even those who do try somehow manage to fail regardless, but the point still remains that they tried. If you lounge about and think everything will be handed to you in good time, you are very wrong. Those who do not put in a little effort toward achieving their goals will not receive the beauty of succeeding in them.

Consider this quote carefully, bookmark this post or save the image if you will. Think about all the possible meanings it could have and use it as your inspiration the next time you need a helping hand. There are plenty of us who struggle sometimes, whether it's making decisions and choosing the right path, or simply needing that extra boost to help us along. Just turn to your favourite quote and you will be surprised at the ideas it sets off inside your head. Many times has this worked and many times has it failed, but if you don't try, you will never ever know.

Journey ~ Inspirational

Most people know that in order to begin a journey of any kind, we must first take a single step toward reaching our destination. This inspirational quote does not suggest anything less than that. If you wish to begin some form of journey, whether it be small or large in size, you must first realise that in order to achieve success, you have to put in a bit of effort. This would be similar to driving, in order to get the car moving, you have to turn on the ignition before the wheels in turn pull the car along. No matter what you are hoping for through this journey, if you fail to take the first step, you will not get very far and will most likely end up failing because you did not even try. As with our previous post about dreams, anything is possible if you give it your guidance.

When someone is in need of a shoulder to cry on or someone is struggling with something they know they cannot do, do you offer a helping hand? There are many ways in which we can explain clearly what this quote means, but those are just a few. If you find this one to be a poor description or you wish to expand on it's possible meanings, do an online search to fully understand what is required for a typical journey. Just remember that your journey could be anything in the world you want it to be, it could take you to the other side of the world, or it could help you cross the road. Wherever your journey begins, don't forget to take the first step, it will make it easier for you.

Time Is Precious

When you think about time, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Recently, I have been reading more about those who view time as entirely precious and wasting even a single moment is a danger to our soul. I'm in agreement, I have to say. When you consider those around you whom you love dearly, especially those you do not have the pleasure of spending time with as often as you would like, what does time mean to you then? Think about all of the times you have procrastinated, when it concerns loved ones.

It is such a shame that we cannot develop our very own Neverland, a place for children and adults alike to spend forever with each other and never have to worry about growing up. This would be the perfect solution for those of us who are focused on something entirely different at the wrong time, a time when we desperately need to spend said moments with those who mean the most to us. In Neverland, if it exists (I'm a believer, are you?) I think that we would all benefit from making the wrong choices. No matter what we decide at any particular moment, there will always be time for it afterwards, because in Neverland, time does not truly exist. It is but a myth and therefore we would have nothing to worry about. Ask yourself this question and be more than honest, could you spend more of your time with those around you when it is supposed to happen? Or are you someone who puts things off till a later date and wonders why on earth you made such a decision? If this bothers you on a regular basis, it's time you did something about it.

Imagine that we do live in a world called Neverland. Imagine that we have all of the time in the world, time to do the things we want to do after we have done what is most important. Make family, friends and all your loved ones a priority in your life. You never know how long it may be until you get to see them again.

So many of us have forgotten how to appreciate the less obvious things in life, such as every single thing on a list of what you know you love. This can vary depending on the type of person you are, but here are a few to give you some ideas:
  • A song
  • A movie
  • A good book
  • A hug
  • A helping hand
  • Loved ones
  • The weather
  • Delicious food
  • A hobby
  • A smile
The above list are a few examples of what we experience at least a few times throughout our lives, yet we never really pay enough attention. We are missing out on the little things that add up and make life special, the things that we see as barely anything, but they are quite the opposite. If you have your very own list of the little things in life that make you happy, please share in the comments! :]

Story Starters

I often find myself taking hours just to come up with that perfect first line for a story; it's sometimes even harder than actually writing the story itself and that is never a good thing. I've always believed, as many other writers, the best way to grab your readers attention is to have encouraged to read on. This means you'll have to come up with a first line that lingers in their minds and makes them immediately want to know more.

Over the last few months especially I have been having problems with choosing starters straight away; it can take me up to an hour as I mentioned above. If you too have these issues with your writing, take a look at the examples below and see if they spark any ideas for you.

1. As she walked silently through the village, not a sound could be heard other than the echo her boots made as they came into contact with the pebbles beneath her feet.

2. Staring longingly into her ocean blue eyes caught him in a trance and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t turn his gaze elsewhere.

3. Worrying over the events of yesterday had her feeling drained and lifeless, knowing what she had said was heartless.

4. Although his heart was broken, he knew deep down that she still loved him and he would give everything he had to try and win her back.

5. Destiny had always been but a dream to her as she made her way through life without someone who cared.

6. A hand reached out to help her up from the unfortunate position she had gotten herself into after slipping on the rock coated with seaweed.

7. A positive attitude set a bright aura around her as she always saw the upside in even the worst situations.

8. Not being one to turn down such an offer, he grabbed the last ticket on sale and raced into the arena.

9. Silence filled the surrounding area and all they could think of was to turn around and go back the way they came, through the chilling dark forest.

10. Memories of her past life flashed through her mind and had her wondering what if time travel was really possible.

The above ideas are first lines I created for my very first blog post and I hope they inspire and encourage you along your writing journey.

Beauty In Life ~ Inspirational

Only through an open mind and a calm and relaxed way of life can we hope to see the true beauty in life. It is often the smallest details we overlook most that are the ones we should be focusing our full attention on. What matter of beauty lies within such morbid and miserable ignorance that some hope to see themselves through their entire lives with, I will never understand.

When we are happy and content enough within ourselves and the world around us, we can look upon such beautiful details and smile. We so often pass by the likes of flowers such as this one on the left and wonder why there isn't anything special going on in our lives. Well, this is the answer to your question I believe. Be more in tune with your surroundings and learn to appreciate what is already here, not what you seem to want in your life so badly. A want is not something we should dwell on as the process leading up to it can often prevent you from seeing all of the wonderful things you already have. Are you someone who misses the divine beauty in everything? Or are you someone who captures every single essence?

Have Faith

Do you have faith?

Are you someone who has constant faith, or is your faith sometimes abandoned depending on the situation you find yourself dealing with? Whilst I believe everyone should have faith all of the time, it can not be so simple when we find ourselves struggling to trust certain people or actions that we come across in life.

Learning to have faith in someone or something is allowing yourself the freedom to do or say anything in relation to this person, action, object or desire, without having to worry over the outcome. Some will still worry over the end results, fearing what may happen afterwards, but having faith is the first step toward releasing yourself from the bonds of paranoia.

Can you imagine, or have you ever imagined, how carefree our lives would be and how much happier we would become, if we had a little more faith? It's something I have been working on as of late and thus far the results have proven it to be wonderful. Try to have a little more faith in everything you do, the world around you and those you care about. Even those you do not know or situations you would not dare enter willingly, you'll be surprised by the effects.
